The town is heating up for carnival –though the temperatures are dropping. Naturally: carnival in Europe wouldn’t be the same without a little nip. I just realised this’ll be the first time in over a decade I see a carnival parade. I wasn’t at all excited about it to be honest, I spent years growing up in a town famous for its take on carnival. But just now on my way home, I was overtaken by a float blasting loud Brasilian music, all the old carnival hits. And on their heels there followed a batteria group, the best I’ve heard in ages, even though there were teenagers.
