Spending a lot of time at home, trying to write, naturally gives rise to all sorts of questions about the neighbours.
You’ve heard about Kanno san already, of course. But what about the family right across the road from me? Hip 40-something mum and two late-teens-to-early-twenties kids, that much is evident. And the other man who lives there, obviously no longer young but black hair still (dyed?), often seen dressed in tight jeans and bomber jacket, transportation means a foldable bike or small black Toyota and, not sure from where I’m looking but I think so, sporting an earring? Is he the father? The daughter’s hubbie? The mother’s toyboy..?
And what about the old man in the house next door, who shuffles into the garden at regular intervals to stand in one corner for a few minutes, looking down? Does he really pee in his own front yard, or is there another explanation? Does his wife know and, if so, what are her thoughts?
I could go on and on like this…

You have a quite a few interesting characters in your neighborhood. who needs to watch sitcoms/soap operas when you have one happening in your own backyard?
maybe the old guy is just watering the plants? did you see his water can? the tight-jean-bomber-jacket guy is probably both the mom’s and the daughter’s boytoy.
possibly. or maybe they’re quite normal really, and i’m just looking for ways to entertain myself..? ^^
no watering cans, mate. besides, the only thing growing in that specific corner is a kaki tree. so…manure? :/
やっぱり!i think you’ve hit that one on the head…^^
that old guy that possibly dyes his hair sounds like me. although at church service one of the ladies asked my age because i have a 21 and 17 year old. honest truth. she thought i was in my 20s… “a kid” she said. of course, made me feel better, but as a working musician i have to look young. or at least act young. i believe i’m a kid at heart, of course.
i don’t wear tight jeans, though. i typically wear yoga or indian-style pants and shorts. lol.
nothing wrong with acting young, carlos! for musicians and non-musicians alike…though it’s like you said about the jeans, you just have to know what you can and can’t get away with. to me, it’s the equivalent of a 50 year-old woman in a mini skirt (tina turner at 50 excluded^^).
she said 20s, really? excellent! did you buy her lunch..? ^ -
